Number of microstates for two systems
with a thermal contact

The number of microstates for two systems, each of which consistes of N/2 particles, with a thermal contact depends on how the energy is distributed between the two systems. It has a maximum as a funtion of the energy given to one system. The height of the maximum increases rapidly as the system size is increased.
Change the value of N (<1024) and click the draw button.
